Fashion

James Laver believed woman’s clothing changed throughout history as a reflection on architecture, society, and ‘erogenous zones’. As the choice body part on display lost its novely, the “erogenous zone would shift” (Survey of Historic Costume p.4).

Sex Toys in the New York Times

An interesting article in the New York Times documents the rise of sex toys from novelty items to common household appliances. Apparently things have changed a lot since the 50′s; with 53% of women and along with almost half the men surveyed reporting having used a vibrator on themselves or a partner they’re just about as common as a drip coffee maker.

Turn Your iPhone into an iFun

This morning I discovered that iPhone has added a personal massager app!

A precursory look at the app store and I found out the iPhone has several personal massager apps for you to choose from. Being cheap but curious I decided to try Myvibe and Vibrating Massager Free. While the vibrations are not exactly stellar I could see using this to relax a sore neck or perhaps heat things up a bit for more fun later. Of course let’s not forget the upshot that no one will freak out if it drops out of your purse.
Ooohh there are more. Maybe I will do an expose. For research purposes of course.
Update: I have downloaded five different iPhone apps for pleasure purposes and it seems that all of them are inadequate for my needs. It appears that the Hitachi Magic Wand still reigns supreme in the vibe world.

The Underwear Revolution

Everyday Saudi Arabian women struggle with embarrassment while shopping for undergarments because of laws that seek to occlude women from the workforce. In a ironic turn around in such a sex segregated society lingerie departments are staffed almost entirely by men. Women are not able to ask the staff basic questions about their undergarments, receive fittings, or even try undergarments on in the store because of the country’s opposition to public changing rooms. As a result lingerie shopping can not only be a harrowing experience and many women come home with ill fitting garments.

Well women have had enough. A small group of Saudi Arabian women have organized a ban on lingerie stores until they allow female sales clerks. In the meantime they have devised a ten day course that will teach women how to fit bras, answer costumers’ questions, and display lingerie.
Good show ladies I wish you the best of luck!

Putting Lingerie to the Test

Apparently the girls at Ultimo have decided to put their underwear to the ultimate test: rollercoasters! Lots of good news coming in from the UK today.

Sex Toy Vending Machine

Our neighbors across the pond have a great attitude when it comes to sex and I am very pleased to present the sex toy vending machine!
This morning I stumbled on a gem of an article about a sex toy vending machine franchise from a company called Tabooboo in the UK. These little pink darlings feature 13 delectable products from nipple clamps to pocket rockets. I’m not certain we’ll see these popping up here anytime soon but a girl can certainly dream.
